Hi Fans,

The band has experienced a lot of great stuff in 2007...and we've decided to take a little break and retool things. We just want to keep the project interesting for you, the fans, as well as for us. So we will not be performing in San Antonio until April. We will be at SXSW in March and will be gearing up for a new recording...which means more new songs to revitalize the band...and hopefully, you guys. We are very grateful for your continued support and want to bring you fresh new tunes in 2008.

With all of this said...our last show till April will be at Sam's Burger Joint....this Friday the 14th. We will be playing with Snowbyrd and The Swindles....a quality taco land-esq lineup to bring you into the new year!

Fans,

Big shows coming up in both Austin and San Antonio. Next Thursday, November 8th, we will be returning to Austin to perform at Club 115 (115 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX) with bands EDO(Austin, TX), Boca Abajo(Austin, TX), El Tule(Austin, TX) and Arthur Yoria(Houston, TX). For those of you that have been waiting and pleading for us to return to Austin...this is your chance to check us out! Time is TBA and I'll have it posted on our web site/myspace/future bulletin. Stay tuned!

For San Antonio, close to 400 people attended our CD release party that occurred in September of 06'. Now, over a year later, Sexto Sol returns to Ruta Maya Riverwalk (107 E. Martin St, San Antonio, TX) on Friday, November 9th with openers Arthur Yoria(Houston, TX) and EDO(Austin, TX). The show starts at 9pm. We will have expert sound on hand run by Gene Ng of Krazy Kat Music...which should make for a very enjoyable night of music and a great venue.

A big show happening tomorrow night for First Friday at Blue Star Brewery in the Blue Star Arts Complex in San Antonio, TX. Sexto Sol is going to be the "house band" for a new late night talk show entitled "Late Night Live w/ Cleto Rodriguez". The show will have 13 airings on LATV for those of you with Grande. "The little internet late night talk show that could", has; and now will hit television starting September 15th.


Late Night Live with Cleto Rodriguez is the brain child of host Cleto Rodriguez 35, Executive Producer's Carlos Maestas 27 and James Ponce 29. What started 5 months ago as an idea to do an internet show ala SNL's Wayne's World of the early 90's has quickly evolved into a legitimate Late Night talk show with a crew of 16 including the most recent addition the award winning House Band Sexto Sol. LNL will make it's debut Saturday, September 15th from 12-1am on LAT TV/KISA Ch 40 Grande Comm Ch 15 for a 13 week run. The show will tape in front of a live studio audience at the Blue Star Brewing Company 4 days a month.



The first live taping will be Friday September 7th from 9-10 PM and will feature radio personality Xavier "Da Freakin' Rican" from 98.5 the Beat and comedian Paul Varghese from Last Comic Standing and Comedy Central's live at Gotham. Fans,

Its been a long, long time since we've performed at the venue where it all started, Salute Lounge in San Antonio. We have always considered Salute to be where we were made as a band....both as a group, and as individuals. Practically everyone in the band got their musical education by countless visits to Salute to hear Esteban Jordan, The West Side Horns, Sauce Gonzales, Randy Garibay and Cats Dont Sleep, Joe Jama, and many others. Salute is a legendary San Antonio night club and if you haven't visited it, you're missing out. And if you like the idea seeing us up close and personal, there is no other place like Salute!!

We will also be filming wrap-up footage for our 1st DVD release! We already have previous concert footage along with interviews in the can...so come be a part of the experience on Saturday, November the 18th at 10pm. Thanks for your support and the support of local music in general!

Sexto Sol hits 20,000 amigos!

Safe to say, we are blowing up on our myspace. We hit 20,000 friends a few days ago...we've made some great fans from myspace.com and we are very grateful. Thanks everyone!

NEWS: Our next show at Salute! in San Antonio on Saturday, Nov. 18th (see dates) will be the site of wrap-up footage for our 1st DVD release! We have previous concert footage along with interviews already in the can...after the Salute! show we'll be ready to wrap the project up!

Also, we have recently just confirmed a show co-headlining with Vallejo at Revolution Room in San Antonio on Dec. 16th, Starchild to open. Should be an awesome show!
